KyleRay.net

One of the perks of working with a company that builds blogs is that the build one for me. So this will be my farewell post from here. I will now be posting over at www.KyleRay.net. I am very excited about this and I think they built me a great looking blog. So head over there, check the place out and let me know what you guys think. I will be getting my blogroll up pretty soon, so if you want to be on it let me know. Now go change all of your links (all six of you linked to me) and update your readers or bookmarks or whatnot, and I'll see you in a greener pasture.

The Rock & Worship Roadshow

As you all know, I will out on the road for a little over a month with The Rock & Worship Roadshow. The purpose of this trip is to help create an online community and online interaction that all surrounds the tour. There is going to be some amazing talent performing 21 shows and the great part is that you can be apart of it. All you have to do is check out the tour online. There is a

facebook,

myspace,

YouTube channel,

blog,

flikr,

twitter

plus more things will come about as the tour progresses. So check it out. Stop by and watch and say hello, come out to a show in your area, if nothing else stop by and be apart of the community who knows what is going to happen?

Wireless Electricity

Several months ago I was trying to find my phone charger, which wasn't where I left it, and wished that I did not need to plug my phone in to charge it. As the imagination grew "my dream" turned into a house or office where I could just walk in and my phone would just start charging. No need for messy wires tethering you down, it would be quick and easy. The only problem is that I am not smart enough to invent such a thing. So "my dream" went to the back of my head until I was sent this article.

I wish I had thought of this when I was born and invented it then and now would be rich.

Another idea that needs to happen: the iphone needs to have a camera on the face (?) for video chat. But somehow I think the smart people of apple are already thinking of that.

The Jordan Emmans Band

On Tuesday morning I received a text from Jordan telling me that be had added another show will his band is out here on tour. This is super cool for me be because Jordan is one of my favorite guitar players. Plus the players in his band are from around the world and they have been living in Korea for the past two years. This was my first opportunity to see the play live and they did not dissapoint. They played my favorite songs off their CD, some great new originals and some well played covers. Anyway, they are playing again this Friday at nine at The Club Car in Auburn, ca. I will be there with my wife and baby and think you should come to.

New phone

I can't believe I did this, but for Colette and my anniversary of being together for five years I bought us iPhones. This is something that I never would have imaged doing. But we looked into and it was feasible. It just means that instead of by congas, I bought two phones. I would like to thank Brody of Skör (i.e. my new job) for giving me a reason to actually need the iPhone not just really really want one.

The last shows

As with normal The Art of Whimsy fasion, the last two shows were not without some adventure. The first show was up in Truckee, about an hour east of auburn. The plan was to leave at four, get there by five and start playing at seven. Well we didn't leave until five, no problem though that would get us there at six with an hour to spare. Half hour into the drive nathan realized that he forgot his guitar. This meant turning around getting the guitar and starting the journey all over again. On the way back, the windshield wiper fell off. So driving through the snow, then rain, then snow again on the way back up the hill to truckee was not ideal with no windshield wipers. Bit we made by seven and were playing music only about thirty or so minutes late. Plus a friend had tried to come to the show but got lost and tried unsuccessfully to get a hold of me. (my phone was not working well at the moment).

Playing at the paradise grill went well except for the fact that ownership changed the week before so there was some confusion as to whether or not we were going to play. As well, shock of all shocks nathan was an hour and thirty minutes late. Though he does have a really good excuse; he Moved to Hawaii the very next day, leaving at 8:30 in the morning. I would have cancelled the show, but I am glad he didn't since a good time as had by all who came including me.

Roll Over Beethoven

A couple of days ago Bella rolled over for the first time. Colette and I were both there to witness this and can't wait for her to realize what this new found skill can mean for her. I know this will probably take a little while as she hasn't even attempted to do it again. She loves to roll onto her side but stops there.

She has also started eating "solid" food. She loves banana and avocado so far and I am sure more will be added to that list as time goes on.

She is also currently filling her diaper with poop. Isn't that exciting?

A Welcome

The people that read this regularly and are wondering what the exciting news is, I am about to tell you.

I am the newest member of Skörinc. I will be working for and along side my long time and good friend Brody Harper on the up and coming Rock and Worship Road Show. It is going to be an awesome time learning what he does, helping along the way and coming up with a few cool ideas of my own (hopefully). This does mean that I will be on the road for a little over a month. It is going to be very difficult as I will be away from Colette and Bella. But we are going to burn through cell phone minutes and hopefully some jet fuel as well. If you don't know what Brody does, he creates a web presence for the bands that he regular works with, and will do that same for this tour. This means things like blogging, live streaming video of the shows on the tour, behind the scenes videos, twitter updates from the band on tour, regularly uploading of photos, and anything else we can think of. The idea is to make this tour as interactive as possible. No matter where you are or who you are, you will be able to find something to watch/read about the tour at anytime. So check it out and find something that you like.

To those just coming over from Brody's blog. Welcome! I of course am looking forward to working with Brody and I am definitely looking forward to working with you guys. Brody has created a grass roots company and you guys are its strength. Any all comments are going to be a great help to us. Thanks for stopping by and let's make this the biggest online tour yet. Thanks for stopping by.

Dan in Real Life

Colette and I just watched the movie Dan in Real Life. If you haven't seen it, I recommend that you do so. It is funny, romantic (for lack of a better word), well acted, etc. Not much else that I can think of saying, but it is a really good movie and I think that you should all see it.

Music over bikinis

A few months ago I got a subscription to Spin Magazine. It was meant for a gift and eventually that person will get that gift. A few days ago instead of getting my Spin magazine I received Maxim instead of Spin. And not just one but two, one of which being the swimsuit edition. My step-dad handed me the mail. I am not sure he knows what Maxim is, but i waiting to get talked to about it.

I want my Spin back.

An Epilogue

If you haven't heard my band mates, Nathan and Jess, are moving to Hawaii in less than two weeks. If you knew this and haven't realized, this will make playing in a band together very difficult. (I am not moving to Hawaii). So this will mark the end of my playing with The Art of Whimsy, at least as a permanent part. Nathan plans to continue playing under the name, so The Art of Whimsy will continue on.

We do have two shows left.

Thur, February 12, 2009 @ 7:00 pm @ Cottonwood Restaurant in Truckee, Ca
Fri, February 13, 2009 @ 7:00 pm @Paradise Grill in Roseville, Ca

Hope to see you there.

Pray

If I was cool I would use bullet points

For the past month I have been a stay at home dad while colette makes the bacon. this means that i should have tons of time to do things like blogging but usually end up holding bella and spending my time with her. that means typing everything with one hand. that is really slow and explains the lack of capitalized letters. to make matters worse i just singed up for twitter. unlike myspace we can't be friends, but you can become my stalker (took me forever to remember how to spell that) and follow me. i might follow you but maybe not.

i need an iphone and unlimited text messaging. last time i asked for something on here i received what i asked for, i can only hope.

my parents changed to dish network so we now have satellite t.v. in our room. i love watching t.v. and movies.

i will have some cool/exciting news that will wait till a little later.

the monster is awake....
